A very well-known sea shanty. At the end we play a cracking Québecois tune that Sophie found called Le Veillard Et Le Veille Dame
lyrics
In South Australia I was born,
Heave away, Haul away!
In South Australia, round Cape Horn,
Bound for South Australia
Haul away, you rollin' kings!
Heave away, Haul away!
Haul away, you'll hear me sing!
Bound for South Australia
As I went out one morning fair,
Heave away, Haul away!
'twas there I met Miss Nancy Blair,
Bound for South Australia!
Haul away, you rollin' kings!
Heave away, Haul away!
Haul away, you'll hear me sing!
Bound for South Australia
I shook her up, I shook her down,
Heave away, Haul away!
I shook her all around the town!
Bound for South Australia
Haul away, you rollin' kings!
Heave away, Haul away!
Haul away, you'll hear me sing!
Bound for South Australia
There's just one thing that grieves my mind
Heave away, Haul away!
It's leaving Nancy Blair behind
Bound for South Australia
And as we wallop around Cape Horn,
Heave away, Haul away!
You wish to Christ you never were born!
Bound for South Australia!
Haul away, you rollin' kings!
Heave away, Haul away!
Haul away, you'll hear me sing!
Bound for South Australia
In South Australia I was born,
Heave away, Haul away!
In South Australia, round Cape Horn,
Bound for South Australia
Haul away, you rollin' kings!
Heave away, Haul away!
Haul away, you'll hear me sing!
Bound for South Australia
Haul away, you rollin' kings!
Heave away, Haul away!
Haul away, you'll hear me sing!
Bound for South Australia

Kris, this is a fantastic record. I don’t normally get as excited over best of’s, but this is so well done. New versions of already excellent songs, bringing new perspectives and some excellent new songs to boot. I highly recommend it; anyone that’s thinking “naw it’s just a mash-up of existing songs”, it’s definitely not - buy it, you won’t regret it. poolo

Such a broad range of roots music styles; trad English, modern Scottish, Americana.
The first track is fabulous, took me right back to teenage years listening to Fairport.
Hope it gets the recognition it deserves Derrick Turner
